Rent Increase

I issued my tenant with a Section 13 on 10th August 2011 to advise I would be increasing the rent by £25.00 pcm from the 11th October 2011.

The tenancy fell due for renewal on 11th October 2011 and new 12 month contract was sent to tenant for signing which tenant has now returned. Unfortunately due to human error the signed tenancy still showed the old rental payment not the new one.

Can I still expect increased payment from tenant as Section 13 was served or do I have to stand by what is stated on signed tenancy.
