I have been told by a local university that I have to have a half hour fire door on the kitchen in order to rent to students this year.

I am not sure what constitutes such a door, the house has original 1930s panel doors and I do not want to change them. We could screw a fireboard panel to the door while letting the property - would this suffice if the original door is not compliant? We also have to attach some kind of strips round the door but this should not present a problem.

Any advice I would be very grateful.

Thanks, Angela
