Hello, I have a property which is let to students and this years batch seem to be totally incapable. They have let the shower leak down the back wall, when turned on, and onto the floor, thus lifting the floor tiles and blowing the bath panel which was new in August. They only alerted me after water started dripping through the downstairs ceiling and as I was not near at the time I had to call an emergency plumber thinking the leak was from a tap or pipe. Can you please tell me who is responsible for the payment of the plumber and the work needing doing. They also caused no end of condensation problems in the winter as they refused to put the heating on and blamed me for this as they said it was due to the fact that some of the seals had rotted on the windows, so I had them replaced and paid for that but now I feel that they should be responsible for their actions and pay towards this latest problem. I do find it hard to understand who is responsible for what in terms of maintenance and repairs, up to now we have paid for everything and even replaced light bulbs for them. Many thanks for ure help.
