Tenant cutting short a tenancy

Hi,
My tenant wants to terminate his tenancy after just 3 weeks of a 2 year AST, because, unexpectedly, his wife cannot gain entry to the UK.
He wants to move back into college accomodation.

Where do I stand?

I have 1.5 months deposit.
