I joined the RLA as a means to trying to provide some redress against tenancy deposit scheme racketeers.

It seems however that the RLA is nothing more than a marketing body for TDS, evidenced by the frequent mail shots lauding the TDS run Deposit Guard, emails about how wonderful TDS is and magazine articles in which the TDS CEO tells us what a great job he's doing (for tenants).

If this is truly an organisation for Landlords, then it seems that there is a huge conflict of interest created by the closeness of the relationship between RLA and TDS, one which should be more openly declared.

I have resorted to this post as I have hitherto received zero response to my complaints to the membership email address.
