Approx 5 years ago I bought a property which had been converted to 4 self contained flats, all with planning permission, with the Landlord occupying 1 of them, and also paying the water and sewage charges.Once bought,I let them as 4 self contained flats. With me still paying all the water and sewage charges.
United Utilities have now decided that they would like to either install 1 bulk meter or an individual meter for each flat.
1)What is their legal position, are they entitled to do this?
2)What choice do my tenants have?
3)What,if any are my rights?
I would value any comments or guidance on this matter please.
Thank you
