The House Crowd/ Crowd sourcing to buy propoerties

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has come across "the house crowd", as mentioned in the article in the latest edition of the magazine, or has any experience of crowd sourcing when buying and investment property. I would normally think this could be a bit of a scam, but with it being in the magazine, and their business model, seems to indicate that it may not be?

Any thoughts anyone?
