Tenancy Types and Management

Can anybody advise of the time of day that a tenancy agreement should start and end? The RLA tenancy agreement does not appear to cover this it just says from "date to date" I ask the question after renting out student property for over 23 years and my tenancies run consecutively from one group to the next group without interruption but the new tenants always want to know what is the earliest time they can move in. Their is an implication on the tenancy bills for this question as well.
