Agent fee for "break clause" Tenancy

Is there a fixed, accurate answer? My agent signed up a tenant with a six month break clause against my specific wishes. He also took his percentage fee based on one years tenancy.
If the tenant leaves after six months I have paid, I believe, over the odds for the agents "services".
How can I recoup?
