Hi all,

First time landlord looking to rent my flat to a 30-something couple. I have run them both through the Paragon tenant checking tool and he has come back with two active CCJs (one for a couple of hundred £ from late 2012, another for a more substantial amount in 2010). Paragon has recommended seeking a guarantor.

I would like to ask the forum what its opinions are of accepting tenants with CCJs backed by guarantors. Should I be concerned? Should I seek alternative tenants. What affects could this have on the property from a potential "blacklist" perspective if the tenant continues to have credit problems albeit they may not affect me?

His partner comes back clean and earns a good salary so no concerns there.

Thanks for your views in advance.
