My tenant is in rent arrears, various excuses (expensive lifestyle, living beyond means)followed by loss of job. He owes 2 months rent £2600. 6 month fixed period of AST has come to an end.

tenancy start date is 14 May 2012 for 1 year and the renewed by another year.

I wish to serve a section 21 notice immediately.

Should the notice state I wish to seek possession in 2 months from date of notice eg today or 2 months after next rent is due ie 2 months after 14 Jan2014 when next rent would be due(tenant is already 2 months in rent arrears)
