Further to a question i noticed about divorce on the forum 15/8/12. Can one member of a joint tenancy, whether a couple or a group give notice to leave without the other tenants also giving notice? Surely the landlord can require they all leave or none? (Subject to a tenant's right to find a suitable replacement member to join the group in their place).

In the divorce case, is the party who wishes to leave not liable until the landlord either accepts the remaining party on a new individual AST or the whole tenancy comes to an end?
