Hi everyone,
this is a followup to my previous posting here. I just need some additional information to clear things up.
If on a verbal contract and Assured Shorthold Tenancy, say the tenant moved in on the 10th of the month and paid the rent for that month on the 15th.

From the legal point of view, does the rent cover that month until the 31st/30th or does it cover up to the 15th of the month?

In other words. Does the rent start from the moment the tenant moves in? Or from the start of the current calendar month? (i.e. if she moved in on the 10th she "lost" those 10 days).

Can you clarify this for me please?

Thank you very much.
