My joint tenants have told me that they have decided to separate.

Their 6 month agreement is up next month, so I now want to end this rather than continue it. I have read that I have to give two months notice, but one of them wants to continue living there and would like me to terminate the agreement and create a new one.

Can I legally end this at the end of the 6 months, or would I need to give two months notice before changing the agreement to sole tenancy?
