Hi I have an issue regarding how to get a deposit protected...

I've been letting my neighbours house out for him because he could never be bothered to find good tenants and do maintenance. Since I have other properties I manage myself it made sense to offer to do it for him.

I just issued a new tenancy agrement in which I am the landlord and I get the rent, I pay the owner 91% of the rent and he is responsibe for maintenance costs which I arrange or do myself.

All well until the latest tenancy when I registed the deposit they would not accept becuase my name is not against the house at Land Registry.

Clearly need the deposit needs to be protected but how can I if the scheme will not accept me?
I have only another week or two to work this out within the 30 day period.

Has anyone else resolved this?

Any advice?

Cheers
