Hello, I used a reputable company last year to run a credit check on my potential tenant. It showed one outstanding CCJ for around £2000., but that was all. I took her on, despite that, with a Guarantor in place. However 9 months later, I discovered bailiffs trying to enter the property and they said she owed 5 years worth of council tax at her previous address! Its hard to believe how this never showed up? Do I have any redress? What can I do to stop this happening in the future?
