I currently have a few houses that are rented but I am now looking at the implications of purchasing self contained flats, as I have advised that there are larger profit margins in this area of renting.

Does a block of self contained flats mean that the property would be classed as a HMO?

There has been a lot of negative press relating to HMO's and the strict requirements that are enforced on landlords. Is it worth considering moving into this area or does the hassle outweigh any potential benefits?

Can anyone enlighten me with the benefit of their experience please?

Many thanks
