My Estate agent has found me new tenants and is pushing me to sign a 2 year contract instead of a 1 year contract.

They have dropped their fees from 8% to 6% in order to get me to sign as they say the tenants want to stay there for a long time.

Can I not just sign a one year contract and then when the contract comes up for renewal get them to sign a contract with me rather than use the letting agents? Would this not save me money in the long term?
