We have just bought a property but have to take on the present tenants until their tenancy finishes in 2015. A leak occurred a few days before we took ownership and the previous owner was provided with a quote for repair a couple of days before. I am assuming we will have to put this right and pick up the costs but wonder whether there is any rental practice that says the previous owner should pay for this. Long shot, but ...
