I am in the process of renewing or extending a lease on one of my flats. I have previously completed another extension just recently.

I am just wondering if it is really necessary to pay a solicitor to complete the last stage of extending the lease. All I am required to do now is to confirm that I accept the premium I have negotiated with the freeholder via her solicitor. The remaining process is simply transferring the cost and informing the Land Registry, as I understand it. Do I really need a solicitor to do this or can I do it myself?
