Possession - Section 8 and Section 21

My problem tenant has informed me that she will be paying her rent on 8th each month not 1st as per her tenancy agreement as that's when she gets her HB!!! I want to serve her Section 21 (6 month tenancy began on 1st August 2014) Can I do this VIA email?
