A tenant is seeking to leave a joint tenancy agreement and has found someone who has only lived previously with parents (though working) and now coming to London for a new job. He says that the job should be permanent with evaluations at 6 and 9 months but that his parents are willing to act as guarantors. However, they live in Dublin.

As a private landlord, should I ask for bank statements etc from the guarantors but if anything should go wrong - is there any legal clout to recover monies from outside UK? Should I ask for 6 months rent upfront instead?
