Hi
I have a tenant who has just began working in a lettings agency
She said that in October new rules are coming out about smoke alarms
She says that even the hard wired ones are classed as having a 10 year life expectancy and if they are not within the 10 year then insurance would not pay out in the event of a fire even if the smoke alarm is activated.
I have made sure all the battery ones are the 10 year ones and in date but really? I need to get my electrician to install new hard wired ones - I do change these batteries when new tenant comes in .
She also went on to tell me about a legionnaires test / both of these things being the landlords responsibility
Wondered if you have heard the same ?
Thanks rachel
