My tenant moved out without informing me or returning the keys. I found out that the tenant had left purely by chance. Between the time the tenant left and my finding out she had left. I received a housing benefit payment. Am I responsible to repay it or is the tenant responsible?
The tenant told me that they were told by the council that the council would inform me that the tenant had left and that the council would be stopping my housing benefit payment. Which of course they didn't.
Kind Regards
