We're using a letting agent on a let-only basis. They've done the referencing and credit checks on prospective tenants and their guarantor. I've requested this documentation be passed to us once the tenants move in but the agency refuse, citing confidentiality. Before I go back and challenge them, I would like to know other landlord's views/experiences. My question to them will be, if the tenant defaults on rent payments how am I supposed to approach the guarantor if I don't have their details?!
