Ealing Council have just announced borough wide Additional Licensing scheme, covering ALL properties with 3 or more unrelated occupants. The Scheme is due to commence April 1st 2022, and run for 5 years.

By doing so, the Council is effectively trying to license all HMOs in the borough. The justification given by the council is poor, benefits are unquantified and can't see any reason why this should not be challenged.

A call therefore to all landlords in the borough to join the forces and mount a strong challenge. The decision was made by the Council on Dec 8, but communicated just before Christmas. Time is therefore running out so please do let me know and I'd be happy to share more details, including the evidence presented to the council cabinet.
