How do the courts decide on how much compensation to pay?
I paid the deposit for my daughter's current rental. The LL or his agent apparently provided my daughter with evidence that the deposit was protected but nothing was ever sent to me even though the letting agent was fully aware of the situation as I had also provided 100% of the first year's rent as she and her flat-mate didn't pass the credit score.
As an Accredited LL myself, this lack of understanding or blatant ignoring of the rules annoys me intensely.
So, as well as the return of the deposit in due course, is there a guide as to how much extra I should expect?
