I have an upcoming court hearing for possession, and was wondering whether I need to employ a solicitor for the hearing, or can I just present my case?
The tenant is more than two months behind in arrears, accumulated between Aug 21 and Jan 22, and has paid nothing since 12th Jan 22; will the court expect me to provide evidence (e.g bank statements) of what payments have been made (as I can’t obviously show evidence of the non-payments)?
I am still in receipt of part-payments towards the rent from the local Council’s housing benefit dept, but wondered if this counted towards reducing the ‘number of weeks in arrears’. The balance of rent owed by the tenant each week is £133.32, and the tenant’s arrears are currently well over £2000.
