Transferring Management from Agent To Myself on a Periodic Let

I'm in the process of taking over management of my property from the letting agent. The same tenant has been in residence 10+ years and is now on a periodical arrangement. The agent is ready to transfer the deposit to a Deposit Scheme but I cannot find a scheme for a periodic tenancy. Do I have to create a new AST for my tenants to meet the requirements of the deposit scheme.
