I normally offer new tenants a 6 month AST and then when we renew I offer 12 months with a 2 month break clause. However, I have a tenant who has been my tenant for a few years now and is happy to stay for the foreseeable future and he has asked me for a 2 year contract. Are there any disadvantages to me as a landlord to agreeing to this?
