I have used Townends in Streatham for many years and never been charged a continuation letting fee after 12 months. Since they have been taken over by Stirling Ackroyd I am being charged an additional 7.5% every year whilst same tenant is in residence.

On last change of tenant, I missed this change of contract as I assumed it was same as previous.

Is this legal and do I have any recourse???

I have written to them explaining the situation and asking them to waive this fee or they will lose me as a customer.
