Hi

My bank recently informed me that we need to be on the governments Anti Money Laundering register in order to have a client money account and threatened to freeze our accounts until we got on the register, after. a bit of a back and forth they pulled back the threat and just advised we get on the register.

Its the first time I'm hearing about this register, we're signed up for NRLA, ARLA, CMP, PRS etc and I've not heard anything about this in the last few years. We have recently qualified ARLA PM's who also have not come across this before either.

Looking at the register, none of our competitors are on it so I feel like I'm missing something.

I can't seem to find any further information on it, NRLA don't cover it and there is no property specific courses I could find for it.

Has anyone else heard of this? If you manage client money, are you on this register?

Any help/guidance will be much appreciated!
