Hi Brethren,
I have just sold my rented house on 24/11/2022. I want to know:-

  1. When I had to pay the CGT?
  2. What items can I claim against the CGT? For example, Solicitor and agent's charges. Council Tax whilst being sold, adding Gas Central heating, renovation, Electrical rewiring, etc. I would appreciate a full list, please. How to multiply to bring the value to the date it was sold.
  3. Property sold on 24/11 whilst my solicitor paid me on 28/11. Which date counts towards selling?

Also, the house is in my name and the CGT allowance would be joint with my wife or just in my name?
I have to sell 3 more houses on the same Road, in Bickershaw village, WN2 4AB. Should I transfer the house jointly with my wife and two daughters now?
  1. Formula to use for CGT? I bought the house for £4000 in 1986 and sold it for £83,000. Great potential for the other houses as well. Any buyer or how best is to sell the properties? I lived in GhaNA FOR 14 YEARS AS A LECTURER and am thinking to buy property there or exchange it with someone in Ghana. Ghana is one of the best countries in Africa to live in. I donated my pension to the University hospital, Kumasi.
