Can i request release of Deposit before end of Tenancy ?

I have issued section 21 to my tenants due to the remaining party not being able to pass affordability due to a break in their relationship. The Partner has left leaving her with 3 kids. She is on Universal credit. The incident occurred two weeks ago when the Police Damaged the front door looking for her ex who was not there. The Tenant offered for the Deposit to be deducted to pay for the Damaged door. The deposit of £950 is secured by DPS.
The cost of replacing the Door is £950. My question is, Can I ask for the deposit to be released before the end of the notice period to pay for the Door? I understand there will be no deposit left as the full amount will be used to replace the door.
