I have a flat in the London Borough of Newham with tenants, a couple, on a 12 month contract who were due to move out at the beginning of February. The day before the tenants were supposed to vacate, the woman who lives there contacted my estate agent and said her partner had walked out on her, leaving her with a baby and with nowhere to move into. She contacted the council who advised her not to move out. Apparently they placed her on a waiting list for housing. She paid the rent for February, but was late on the rent for March, and when she paid it, it was just over half the rent (£800 instead of £1500). She says she is still awaiting a council case worker to follow up on her case.

My plan in the short term was to sell the flat as I need it to fund the new place that I've bought to live in. I'm wondering what my options are to accomplish this. Any help is much appreciated, thanks
