Over the years been asked by tnts to advise on....well, you name it & I've; helped, sign-posted, supported, informed, explained ad-nauseum, guided, provided, loaned, fought city-hall, or 'the powers', on my tnts behalf,
I'm stumped by a recent request for; signposting, advice, support, et al for a my tnt, so I'm opening up the floor to anyone who has relevant info to share. One never knows with this catholic audience.
Basically seeking 'immigration advice' for a UK tnt who is engaged to be married to a US citizen. They plan to marry in 2025 & then apply to rent one of my 2 bed rentals for themselves & 'work from home' in an IT- based start-up. That aspect is all arranged.
I helped, guided, advised, provided references, etc 3 years ago to a tnt engaged to marry a Mexican citizen, which has sort of set a trend for other tnts to enquire about, Being familiar with Border Agency info/blurb in certain countries was helpful because of letting to 6 dozen peeps from outside the EEC.
All's changed by Brexit of course, so I advised my tnt to seek advice from C. Advice, because now I don't have the good health/stamina I once had.. Their reply back was to 'engage/instruct an immigration lawyer'. Not financially feasible for the tnt.
Therefore asking if anyone has a link to; a charity, or an immigration advice centre they might share. Just need someone to interprete, unpick the myriad of 'visa options', to give a hand-up & smooth the pathway. The whole- house rental is fixed-up. Now need the 'meat in the sandwich' done, so alls above board & the immigration papers/documentation can be applied for, organised & be correct. Its a veritable minefield.
Im sure the Right to Rent checks will be a legal requirement for many years to come, so in a way I'm helping to pre-empt that stage by providing [when necessary], a bona-fide UK-based rental address for the welcome emigree.
