I currently use Excel to manage my portfolio.  I have some houses and some lockup garages so receive quite a few rental payments each month.   Excel is quite cumbersome and time-consuming for keeping track of incoming payments and I'm looking at getting some accounting software to streamline the process.   I like the look of Xero as it can suck the data straight from a bank account and allows easy reconcile/filing of the data.   It'll also be useful for HMRC and when we finally get "make tax digital" - but my main needs are to simplify monthly checking of rent payments and keeping track.    Does anyone have any comments on Xero or recommendations for other software which can do the same kind of thing.     Thanks - Joe
