Has anyone else had targeted reviews of tenants UC claims yet, ourselves and other landlords in our area have started having them, which is fair enough that they have to check if claims should be paid ir not, although I would have thought they had done this before paying them in the first place!?. Our concern is that tenants claims are being suspended for months while they carry out the reviews leaving them with no money for living costs and us with no rental income. Just wondering if others are experiencing this or we and our tenants are just being unlucky. The information being asked does seem excessive sometimes and not asked for all together, one week its one thing, another week something else and so on, such as photographs by the front door with it open, pictures holding passports, 6 months bank statements and utility bills. It is so difficult trying to speak to someone in the UC team, so its difficult to get information as to what is happening from.the tenants sometimes. Any other experiences or suggestions would be very welcome as many more claims suspended stopping tenants money for food and rent payments could become a great concern when we have mortgages etc. still to pay.
