Hello all, We are going to be re-letting our old family home shortly, this time to a family after years of letting to sharers. We did the initial let through Open Rent while we still lived in the UK and and I managed the tenancy from abroad for several years. This worked well, my relationship with the tenants was good, I have built up a number of people who I trust to do plumbing, electrical work etc, even when out of the blue stuff came up like needing drains looking at, locks changing or appliance repair this was easy enough with good communication and the cooperation of the tenants. Also managed to keep all inspections and paperwork in order. Plus even though abroad, I'm not that far away and can get back relatively easily, even on a day trip if necessary. We have a local family member's address for notices etc. One thing that did slip though was regular property inspections, although that is something I could easily do differently next time.

Anyway, to let and manage the new tenancy we are thinking about engaging an agent. I've met a few at the property recently, not a lot to choose between them. I'm reluctant to get them involved at all to be honest, especially as I've done it myself for years. The letting and viewing process seems tricky to navigate. Am thinking about Open Rents's package with which they offer 15 accompanied viewings for a set price. It occurred to me that an average agent might be reluctant to arrange that many viewings and just pick the first tenant who seems vaguely feasible, making Open Rent's option look quite attractive.

What do you reckon? Does doing it myself again seem feasible? I've read a few threads on the forum around the topic, but would love to hear your thoughts.
