Chasing joint tenants for rent arrears and damages

Hi I have finally found out where two previous joint tenants have moved to separate addresses and I wish to chance them for rent arrears and damages. I am going to start court proceedings but am unsure whether I need to do a separate claim for each of them either for the whole amount or the full amount or whether a claim to both of them together for the whole amount. I’m not sure if this is something that you can help with. Regards Linda
