A tenant has just moved out of a property and during the check out it was noted that there was damage (as opposed to wear and tear) to a laminate floor.
The floor is 15+ years old although overall the condition is still pretty good.
To repair the damage ( I have replacement boards) some of the floor has to be lifted to repair the damaged area.
Can the charge for this repair be claimed from the tenant due to the age of the floor?
If not, am I able to claim anything for the damage?
