Referencing

Good morning
I have appointed an agent to find suitable tenants. They have found a young couple who according to the agent has passed their referencing process. We are just waiting for the employer's refs. When I asked to see a copy of this report, they told me they use a software called Vouch and cannot produce individual reports!!! and it is against data protection. I have requested to see exact refs failing that they can produce a report themselves or I will reference them myself using Rentguard.
Now we have the great Christmas rush and they wish to be in asap. Told agents no copy of refs, then no deal and this will not go ahead. I don't feel I am unreasonable.
Anybody else had this experience, please. Spoke to one of my friends who work for Martin and Co she has never heard of Vouch.
