I have tenants of approx. 18 months in my property whose original Right to Rent status was: EEA/Swiss National Passport/Identity Card. I have asked them if they have applied for the EU Settlement Status and received a reply "got the settled status done a long time ago". I have asked for proof that their "settled status" is under the EU Settlement Status Scheme. What action do I need to take if proof is not forthcoming? How can I check their status is correct under the new Brexit rules? [We use an agent to do Right to Rent checks as part of their finding tenants on our behalf.]
