Can Claimant demnd documents of the defendant

A maintence guy is suing me for work that he did not finsh (2020) and claiming full payment. The unfindhed work was completed by another company. The Claimant is not willing to settle or go for mediation.
Can the Claiamant demand documents from the defendent i.e. me to send him copies of document not related to the case from my perpective and that are not part of my witness Statement or evidence in my submission as the defendant.
