A property came to end of tenancy this year and there was £1000 deposit held on it by the DPS. We have calculated an invoice of £2457 to account for the damage/redecorating/repairs/labour. We have been awarded £417 by the DPS. Just wondering whether anyone has ever been successful in recouping more back from a small claims court, or whether the small claims court would basically go by the DPS decision and we would be wasting our time? Obviously I know it depends on the situation, and I'm not counting this as legal advice - just wanting an idea of the experience of others in this situation.
