Your training and events update for June

We are welcoming back some in-person classroom courses this month to complement our comprehensive eLearning and eClassroom courses, along with our national and regional webinars.

eClassroom courses

Our eClassroom courses are live, remote courses delivered via video by our expert trainers.

We have 19 courses running this month including Landlords Fundamentals, Agents Fundamentals, HMO Fundamentals, Saving Property Tax and Ending a Tenancy.

There are also courses on Property Refurbishment, Property Investment, Letting to Students and updated legislation. There are also two approved courses for landlords in Sheffield that need to comply with the city council’s HMO licensing scheme and selective licensing scheme.

Our new Renting Homes Wales Act course will also be running on six dates throughout the month, with both eClassroom and in-person sessions.

National and Regional webinars

June 1 | Tax clinic | 2pm-3pm

The Tax Clinic will look at the different types of tax paid on rental properties in detail, including allowable expenses, and how to work out your taxable profits, with an expert panel including representatives from NRLA partners Less Tax 4 Landlords and TaxScouts. June 8 | How to stay ahead of the EPC rules for rented property | 1pm-2pm

Property experts from Movewise explain what you need to know about proposed new energy efficiency regulations. Experts from NRLA property sales partner Movewise explain the new rules, what steps can be taken to comply with them, and how the changes could open up new investment opportunities. 

Topics will include: 

  • What are the new rules and when will they come into force? 
  • How might the changes affect property values? 
  • Which properties may be exempt from the new rules? 
  • Which improvements are likely to be most cost-efficient? 
  • Are grants available to help with improvements? 
  • What EPC factors should landlords look for when investing in new property?
