Hi,

My wife and I jointly own 2-BTLs, currently we are named landlords on leases for each property so the tax liability is split between us 50:50.

If my wife is the only named landlord on the lease does she become liable for all of the tax?

Or do we need to transfer the properties into her name for this to come into effect? This may of course be a viable option as it will be few years until we need to worry about capital-gains tax!!

Thanks,

Martin
