I have recently bought our second property to let and this requires substantial works. I have contacted my council and been told that I am eligible for rate relief of 6 months discount. They also stated that the maximum I would receive if there where any furniture would be 10% discount. I asked if they would deem fitted wardrobes and wardrobes waiting to be fitted, as furniture they said they would.
My question is where can I access the criteria they will use ? Is there a web address or do the councils apply there own rules, if so am I all lowed sight of these rules and is there any appeal?
Hope that all makes sense.
