I received a deposit from my tenant almost 3 weeks ago and have not registered it with the DPS. I thought that I only needed to register the deposit with the DPS on the day the tenancy starts. I have noticed that the form to register the deposit requires a tenancy start date. If the tenancy has not started and we have not agreed a move in date how does this work? I am a little worried as I have not registered the deposit within 14 days should something go worng before the tenant moves in how will this effect me. Any info would be much appreciated.
