What happens to tenants if landlord dies during currency of agreements?

As an older landlord, Im concerned what might be the legal status of my tenancies should I die during the currency of a tenancy agreement.

Does the tenancy abrubtly end or has the tenant a right to continue until his/her tenancy expires.

Does probate affect this in any way, if the estate is directed to be sold.

you advice would be greatly appreciated.
